If you’re stiff, sore or injured, Osteopathy can help address the issue.
Osteopaths not only look at the stiff/sore/injured area, but also above and below – our bodies are connected so we need to look at all the contributing factors to get best results.
Osteopathy is a hands-on manual therapy that can help with many injuries and conditions – not just bones!
Osteo can help with many different injuries, pains and dysfunctions.
With both treatment, rehabilitation and training in strength and conditioning, we can also help improve performance in sport and decrease the likelihood of injuries.
Osteo does include hands on manual therapy that ranges from gentle techniques, stretches, massage, muscle energy technique (a way to help reset the tension in the muscle, involving muscles contracting and relaxing in a controlled way), tissue and joint mobilisations. We also use dry needling and kinesio tape to help with some treatments.
Movement is a big component too. We look at how your whole body moves and how we can make that movement more efficient and less painful so that you can get back to your day to day activities and even perform better in your chosen sport.
Osteopathy is also covered under medicare for Allied Health Medicare Referrals (AHMR, aka: TCA:Team Care Arrangement or CDM:Chronic Disease Management), where 5 sessions can be subsidised under a care plan that can be created with your GP for a chronic problem.
